TAB Account Security – Betting with Confidence
TAB provides the highest level of encryption on all transactions between your computer or mobile device and our system. However, using the following security precautions can help you ensure that your personal information and betting activity with us are as secure as possible.
Be alert to scams and scamming tactics
Please be aware, TAB will only ask you for your personal details via the TAB app or tab.com.au. If you’re unsure if a message is from TAB, please contact our Customer Service Team on 131 802.
Common types of scams include:
SMS & email scams (also known as phishing):
Be alert to emails pretending to be TAB. Always check that email senders are not suspicious. For example:
Look out for email addresses that do not match the email address legitimate TAB emails/communications are usually sent from.
Look out for email addresses that look like legitimate TAB email addresses but contain unusual spelling, the inclusion of numbers or characters, or odd variations of ‘TAB’ or ‘Tabcorp’.
Look out for poor spelling and grammar.
Look out for requests for sensitive information or financial details.
Be aware that fake/phishing emails may include our company logo or something resembling it.
If you believe you have received a fake email or SMS, we encourage you to report it to our Customer Service Team on 131 802. Do not click on any links or open attachments within suspicious emails.
Phone calls:
Be alert to suspicious phone calls asking you for specific information about your personal details, account password or details, or financial information. If you’re unsure, hang up and contact our Customer Service Team on 131 802.
Remember!
Don’t click on links within suspicious emails.
Don’t open attachments within suspicious emails.
Don’t forward suspicious emails to others.
If a phone call from someone saying they’re calling from TAB is suspicious, hang up and call us back on 131 802.
Report suspicious activity
We encourage you to report suspicious activity (e.g., suspicious emails, phone calls, or account activity) to us as soon as you identify it by calling our Customer Service Team on 131 802.
It’s particularly important that you report any suspicious activity on your account to us as soon as you identify it so we can take immediate action and investigate it.
Use password best practice
Your TAB account password must be 8 characters in length and should be a combination of letters and numbers.
Never choose a password that is easily associated with you (e.g., your date of birth or the name of a family member or pet).
Your password should be as meaningless (in terms of association with you) as possible, but easily remembered by you.
You should change your password every 30 days.
Do not give your password to anyone.
Do not write your password down or record it anywhere on or near your computer.
You can change your password at any time via the My Account section of the websites.
Protect yourself online
Always use a firewall between your computer and the internet.
Don’t open emails from senders that you do not know.
Delete emails that request sensitive information about you (e.g, your account number or password).
Don’t open attachments in emails if you are unsure of what they are.
Use anti-virus/protection software such as McAfee or Norton Internet Security
Shut down your computer or disconnect it from the internet if you are not using it.

Ensure you’re using the latest version of the TAB app to benefit from up-to-date account management and security features and functions.
