‘Venue Mode’ offers you an immersive in-venue experience with easy access to in-venue promotions and offers, and exclusive tips.
‘Venue Mode’ is available at all TAB venues across Australia – this includes selected racecourses.
To access ‘Venue Mode’, simply tap the ‘Venue Mode’ button on the homescreen of the app.
You’ll know ‘Venue Mode’ is on when the ‘Venue Mode’ button and background of your screen appears in green/changes colour.

No. ‘Venue Mode’ might appear active for a short time when you leave a venue but will turn off automatically once you are no longer detected as being in-venue.
To download the app and access Venue Mode, you’ll need an Android 7 or iOS 12 version device or above.
We use the standard location services on your mobile device to determine if you are in-venue or not.
For regulatory jurisdiction purposes, access to the location services on your phone is a requirement of using the TAB app.
No. For regulatory jurisdiction purposes, the TAB app only accesses information relating to your location when you are using the app.
Refresh the home screen of the app by scrolling down. The app should automatically recheck your location. If that doesn’t work, you can also try:
- Restarting your device
- Checking that your device isn’t on low power mode – if it is, try turning low power mode off
- Ensuring that your internet connection is active by selecting Settings >Cellular>Cellular data>On.
To improve the accuracy of your location services, you can try:
- Ensuring location services are enabled on your phone and that the TAB app has permission to access your location – due to regulatory jurisdiction requirements, you can’t use the TAB app unless you give the app permission to identify your location while using it.
- Enabling precise location services
- Connecting to Wi-Fi.
