On 16 August 2024, our new Victorian wagering and betting licence will commence. This licence will be held by Tabcorp VIC Pty Ltd (Tabcorp VIC), a member of the Tabcorp group and subsidiary of Tabcorp Holdings Limited. Your existing Victorian TAB account is linked to our current licence, which is held by Tabcorp Wagering (Vic) Pty Ltd (Tabcorp Wagering) – your account is managed by Tabcorp Wagering Manager (Vic) Pty Ltd (Tabcorp Manager).
Since the current licence will expire on 15 August 2024, we need your consent to transfer responsibility for your Victorian TAB account from Tabcorp Wagering and Tabcorp Manager to Tabcorp VIC from 16 August 2024.
We’re asking you to consent to the transfer or ‘novation’ of responsibility for your Victorian TAB account from Tabcorp Wagering and Tabcorp Manager to Tabcorp VIC, effective 16 August 2024.
This means you agree, with effect on and from 16 August 2024:
- to the transfer or 'novation' of your TAB account and the TAB Terms and Conditions so that Tabcorp VIC replaces Tabcorp Manager and will therefore:
- assume Tabcorp Manager’s obligations in respect of your TAB account (including the provision of wagering and betting facilities to you) pursuant to the TAB Terms and Conditions on and from 16 August 2024 (with obligations and liabilities of Tabcorp Manager in respect of your TAB account arising or accruing prior to 16 August 2024 remaining with Tabcorp Manager); and
- enjoy all of the rights and benefits of Tabcorp Manager in respect of your TAB account arising on or after 16 August 2024 (with any accrued rights of Tabcorp Manager under or in respect of your TAB Account prior to the Relevant Date remaining with Tabcorp Manager); and
- to the transfer of your TAB account balance as at 12:00am on 16 August 2024 from the bank account operated by Tabcorp Wagering to a bank account operated by Tabcorp VIC and the making available in your TAB account with Tabcorp VIC an amount equal to the credit in your TAB account with Tabcorp Wagering and Tabcorp Manager at 12:00am on 16 August 2024;
- that any funds credited to your TAB account as part of the transfer process will be considered monies that may be co-mingled with other monies pursuant to clause 24 of the TAB Terms and Conditions [link];
- that Tabcorp VIC will credit your TAB account with any amounts refundable or payable to you in respect of bets placed using your TAB account prior to 16 August 2024 as an when such amounts become refundable or payable (as applicable);
- to the provision to Tabcorp VIC of your personal information (as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)) and the use and disclosure by Tabcorp VIC of such personal information in relation to the operation of your TAB account and your use of TAB products and services, including as described in our Privacy Policy at www.tabcorp.com.au/privacy-policy;
- that on and from 16 August 2024, each of Tabcorp Wagering and Tabcorp Manager are discharged from any future obligations to you in respect of your TAB account and associated funds and bets.
If you consent to the matters set out in the ‘what am I being asked to consent to’ section, you can simply keep your TAB account open and continue using it in your usual way. You will be asked to signify your consent to the transfer on your first use of your TAB account on or after 1 August 2024, for example via a pop-up in the app or a recorded notice when using your phone account, but
unless you signify to us that you do not wish to consent (see 'What if I don’t consent and want to opt out?'), the transfer of your TAB account to Tabcorp VIC will automatically occur at 12:00am on 16 August 2024.
The transfer of your account should not impact the use of your TAB account. If you experience issues with the operation of your account on or after 16 August 2024, please call our Customer Service Team on 131 802. As always, you must continue to use your TAB account with Tabcorp VIC in accordance with the TAB terms and conditions.
If you consent (see ‘How do I provide my consent?’), an amount equal to the amount held in your current account as at 12:00am on 16 August 2024 will then be available for use or withdrawal via your TAB account with Tabcorp VIC.
Bets on events taking place after 16 August 2024 will remain in place, and – once resulted – any winnings due to you will be credited to your account by Tabcorp VIC.
Your rights in respect of your personal information (as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)), and your preferences regarding direct marketing, remain the same. Our obligations with respect to the handling of your personal information are also unaffected.
Tabcorp Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries (including Tabcorp VIC on and from 16 August 2024) will continue to handle your personal information for the operation of your TAB account, to enable your use of TAB products and services (including to place bets), so that we can contact you to send you information (including for marketing purposes, from which you can opt-out) and to ensure we meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
For further information, please refer to our Privacy Policy at
www.tabcorp.com.au/privacy-policy.
Your account will not be transferred to Tabcorp VIC and will remain subject to the terms and conditions agreed between you and Tabcorp Wagering.
You have no obligation to consent to the transfer of your account from Tabcorp Wagering and Tabcorp Manager to Tabcorp VIC. If you don’t consent, we will not be able to provide services to you, and you will need to close your TAB account – be sure to withdraw any funds from your account before doing so.
If you have any questions or concerns we haven’t addressed, please call our Customer Service Team on 131 802.
Under our new Victorian wagering and betting licence, you can only have one Victorian TAB account. This means you will need to close any additional accounts by 7 August 2024.
What happens if I don’t close my additional account(s)?
If you don’t close your additional account(s) before 7 August 2024, from 8 August 2024 your most recently transacted account will remain open for your continued use, and any additional account(s) will be closed. If you have a credit balance in any additional account(s), this balance will be refunded to you as follows:
- If less than $1,000 and you have nominated a digital method of payment; the funds will be returned via your nominated digital method of payment;
- If $1,000 or more and/or you have not nominated a digital method of payment, the funds will be returned via cheque, posted to your nominated residential address.
Importantly, if you do not consent to the transfer to our new licence, Tabcorp VIC, please ensure you close the account that has remained open.
How does the change to our licence impact you?
If you consent to have your chosen account transferred to our new licence:
- You can continue to use this account as normal.
- Your personal information and account terms and balances will be transferred from to Tabcorp Wagering (VIC) Pty Ltd (Tabcorp Wagering) to Tabcorp VIC.
What if I don’t consent to this change?
You have no obligation to consent to the change of account from Tabcorp Wagering to Tabcorp VIC. If you don’t consent, you will need to close all of your Victorian TAB account(s) – be sure to withdraw any funds from your account(s) before doing so.
