1. Can I use a credit card to make deposits into my TAB account?
No. Due to changes to Australian law, we stopped accepting credit card deposits across all deposit methods (including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal) on 10 June 2024.
To make deposits into your TAB account, you need to use a Visa or Mastercard debit card.

2. What’s the difference between a debit card and credit card?
A debit card accesses your money directly from your bank account (i.e., your everyday transactions account) in real-time.
A credit card provides you with access to a pre-approved line of credit (i.e., money you can borrow from the card issuer) up to a specific limit. When you pay for something on a credit card, you are borrowing money and will need to pay it back by a certain time. Purchases made on credit cards are usually subject to interest (e.g., after a certain period or if repayments aren’t made on time).

No. TAB only accepts Visa and Mastercard debit cards that are linked to an everyday transactions account.

6. Why isn’t my debit card working?
If your debit card isn’t working, it may be because:

You’ve entered your card details (e.g., card number, expiry date, or CCV number) incorrectly.

It’s expired.

It’s not a Visa or Mastercard debit card – these are the only debit cards we can accept.

You have a gambling block enabled for your card – contact your bank/card issuer for more information.

It’s an international card – only Australia and New Zealand issued cards are accepted.

It’s not a debit card (e.g., it is a credit card with debit functionality).

It’s prepaid card.

You have insufficient funds in the account linked to your card.
7. Why are my PayPal/Apple Pay/Google Pay deposits being rejected?
If your PayPal/Apple Pay/Google Pay deposits are being rejected, it may be because your PayPal/Apple Pay/Google Pay account is not linked to a Visa or Mastercard debit card.
