Parlay Formula
Parlay Formula is a unique way to bet on the races. To parlay a bet is simply to reinvest the winning dividends from one race to a bet on a subsequent race. By parlaying the dividends of one race onto a subsequent race, the dividends are multiplied together, thereby increasing the amount of the payout.
A Parlay Formula bet can include up to six races and the formula determines the number of races over which bets are parlayed.
The Formula number is also the number of races over which your bets must be successful, for example if you take a Formula 3 bet over 4 races, the TAB computer will automatically generate all possible combinations of 3 races with this bet.
A Win, Place, Each Way or Quinella bet can be parlayed across a number of races. An Each Way bet is taken by selecting both Win and Place and more than one runner can be selected in each race.
Your bet looks like this:
Flemington Races
Race 3 No. 1 Win
Race 5 No. 5 Win
Race 6 No. 7 Place
Race7 No. 9 Win
You will receive the following combination of races:
Races 3,5 & 6
Races 3,5 & 7
Races 3,6 & 7
Races 5,6 & 7
To collect a dividend you must be successful in 3 of your 4 selected races.
If you also wanted to take this bet to cover all races you would also select Formula 4.
When the Formula number equals the number of races this bet is said to be All Up.
When a Formula 1 is selected, the computer places individual bets on your selected races and any dividends are NOT reinvested.
