1. What is a Same Race Multi (SRM)? 

Same Race Multi (SRM) is a bet type that allows you to select up to 4 runners to finish across a combination of the top 4 finishing positions within the same race as a single bet, at a single price. A minimum of two selections are required to place an SRM.  
 
SRMs provide greater flexibility and opportunity to access better odds than other bet types. They’re a great way to add combinations of up to Top 4 within the same race at a fixed price. 





 

2. Where are Same Race Multis (SMRs) available? 

 

Same Race Multis (SRMs) are available on the TAB app only and for selected thoroughbred and greyhound races. 

To access the TAB app’s new products and features (including SRMs), make sure you update your app to the latest version.  
 

To download/update the TAB on an iOS device: 
  

• Go to the App Store and search ‘TAB’. 

• Select the TAB app (which is represented by our logo). 

• Tap ‘GET’ on ‘Update’.  

 
To download/update the TAB app on an Android device: 
  

• Go to Google Play and search ‘TAB’. 

• Select the TAB app (which is represented by our logo). 

• Tap ‘Install’ or ‘Update’. 

 

3. How do I place a Same Race Multi? 

Open the TAB app and log in to your account, then:  

 

1. Go to the race card/page for the race you want to bet on. If an SRM is available for the race, ‘Same Race Multi’ will appear as an option on the bet type menu. Tap the ‘Same Race Multi’ option to start building your bet.  

 



 

2. Select up to 4 runners to finish across the top 4 finishing positions. 

 

Please note: A minimum of 2 selections are required for SRMs and a maximum of 4 selections (total) are allowed.

 




 





 




 

If you select ‘Bet Now’, review the details of your bet, and tap ‘Confirm Bet’.  

  

Important note: Once you confirm your bet, it cannot be cancelled.  

  

 






 

4. What is the minimum number of runners for a Same Race Multi (SRM) to be offered? 

 

A race needs to have at least six starters for a Same Race Multi (SRM) to be available. If scratchings cause a race to have fewer than six starters, the SRM will close. All bets accepted before the SRM closed will be honoured. 

 

5. Why are Same Race Multi (SRM) odds different to what they would be for a standard multi? 

 

Odds for Same Race Multis are calculated differently due to selections within the race relating to each other. 

6. How do I know when a Same Race Multi (SRM) is available on a race? 

If a Same Race Multi is available for the race, ‘Same Race Multi’ will appear as an option on the bet type menu located above the runners.  





 

7. When are Same Race Multis (SRMs) available? 

Same Race Multis will be available on race day for selected thoroughbred and greyhound races. 

8. What happens if a horse in my Same Race Multi  (SRM) is scratched? 

If a runner in your Same Race Multi is scratched, your bet will be refunded. 

 

 

9. Can I combine bets on different races within a Same Race Multi (SRM)? 

 

No, Same Race Multis (SRMs) can only be placed within a single race.  
 
It is possible to incorporate SRMs with other single bets or SRM sets from other races in the same bet and within ‘All Up’ multis. 

 

10. What happens if I place a Same Race Multi (SRM) and the results of the race involve a dead heat? 

 

If the results of the race for your Same Race Multi involve a dead heat, payouts amounts will represent the relevant percentage (based on how many runners are involved in the dead heat) of the total payout amount. For example, if the results of the race involve two runners in a dead heat for first, payouts will be processed as follows: 
 

• Top 1 will be paid out at 50% (as two runners finished, the total payout amount is divided by two) 

• Top 2, Top 3, and Top 4 will be paid out at 100%.  

 

11. Can I use my Multiplier or Bonus Bets on a Same Race Multi (SRM)? 

Yes.  




 

12. Can I 'cash out' a Same Race Multi (SRM)?  

No.
