Depending on the bet type you select for a race, you will have one or more of the following betting options:
Boxed – ‘Boxed’ betting involves ‘boxing’ runners in a race to cover all possible combinations for the finishing order.
Flexi – ‘Flexi’ betting involves placing multiple bets within a single bet type for a fixed total bet cost. Flexi betting allows you to set a bet budget for a bet type (e.g., a Quaddie or a Quinella) and to divide it across multiple bets. If you win with the flexi betting option on bet type, you’ll receive a percentage of the full dividend).
Multiple/Multi – ‘Multiple/Multi’ betting’ involves picking more than 1 runner in each leg of a bet allowing for more combinations or betting across multiple races.
Roving Banker – ‘Roving Banker’ allows you to bet on any of the top 4 finishing positions in a race. For example, if you’re confident a runner will finish 4th, you can bet on it using the Roving Banker option.
Standard/straight – ‘Standard’ betting involves betting on a single winning combination. For example, 1 runner to come first, 1 runner to come second, and 1 runner to come third.
Standout – ‘Standout’ betting involves selecting a single runner to place 1st (all other selections can place in any order).
A ‘Win’ bet simply involves selecting the runner that you think will place 1st in a race.
The betting options available for ‘Win’ bets include:
Multiple/multi betting.
A ‘Place’ bet involves selecting a runner to place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd*. ‘Place’ bets increase your chances of winning compared to ‘Win’ bets – though they offer reduced potential rewards.
*Please note: 3rd place dividends are only paid for races with eight or more runners.
The betting options available for ‘Place’ bets include:
Multiple/multi betting.
An ‘Each Way’ bet allows you to bet that a runner will either win or place. If your runner wins, you’ll collect both the ‘Win’ and ‘Place’ dividend. If your runner finishes 2nd or 3rd, you’ll collect the ‘Place’ dividend only.
The betting options available for ‘Each Way’ bets include:
Multiple/multi betting.
A ‘Quinella’ bet involves selecting the first two runners to cross the finish line/past the post in any order (i.e., you don’t need to select which runner will finish first and which will finish second).
The betting options available for ‘Quinella’ bets include:
Flexi betting
Multiple/multi betting
Standout betting.
An ‘Exacta’ bet involves selecting the runners that will place 1st and 2nd in a race

A ‘Boxed Trifecta’ bet involves selecting the runners that will place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (in any order). With a ‘Boxed Trifecta’ bet, you can select more than three runners. The more runners you select, the higher the cost of your bet will be – though, your chances of winning will also be higher!
The minimum amount you can bet on a ‘Boxed Trifecta’ is 50c, though most people bet at least $1.
The cost of a ‘Boxed Trifecta’ with a bet amount of $1 per selection is as follows.

5 runners = $60
6 runners = $120
7 runners = $ 210
8 runners = $336
9 runners = $504
10 runners = $720

A ‘Parlay Formula’ bet involves creating a single bet that links together 2-6 individual bets across up to 6 races at the same race meeting.
If you win one of your bets within a ‘Parlay Formula’ bet, the winnings from your bet will be automatically staked/re-invested in the next bet (in addition to the original stake) within your ‘Parlay Formula’ (unless your winnings are from your final bet in the ‘Parlay Formula’).
You can use ‘Parlay Bets’ with ‘Win’, ‘Place’, ‘Each Way’, and ‘Quinella’ bets.
Winning a ‘Parlay Bet’ depends on all of your individual bets winning or a specific number of your bets winning (based on pre-selected ‘Formula Number’, e.g., 3 or 4).
The betting options for ‘Parlay Formula’ bets include:
Multiple/multi betting.
An ‘All-up’ bet is basically a ‘Parlay Formula' bet with a ‘Formula Number ‘that is the same as the number of legs/races in the bet.
Placing an ‘All-up) bet involves creating a single bet that links (or ‘parlays’) together 2 or more individual bets across multiple races at the same race meeting.
If you win one of your bets within an ‘All-up’ bet, the winnings from your bet will be automatically staked/re-invested in the next bet (in addition to the original stake) within your ‘All-up’ bet.
Winning an ‘All-up’ depends on all of your individual bets winning.

When placing a ‘Quaddie’, you must select at least one runner in each race/leg. The more runners you select per race/leg, the higher the cost of your ‘Quaddie’ bet will be – though, your chances of winning will also be higher!
The minimum amount you can bet on a ‘Quaddie’ is $0.50, though most people bet at least $1.[Text Wrapping Break]
The amount you can win on a ‘Quaddie’ will depend on the total prize pool for the ‘Quaddie’ and the number of winners. The total prize pool for a ‘Quaddie’ is equal to the amount of money the entire betting community bets on it and is divided by winning $1 bets. For example, if the betting community bets a total of $10,000 on a ‘Quaddie’, the prize pool will be $10,000. And, if the number of winning $1 is 23, the prize pool will be divided by 23 meaning each winner would get $434.78.
The betting options available for ‘Quaddie’ bets include:
Multiple/multi betting
Flexi betting.
An ‘Early Quaddie’ involves selecting 4 winners from 4 races at a race meeting selected by TAB.
An ‘Early Quaddie’ is just like a regular ‘Quaddie’ but relates to earlier races at selected meetings across all codes (usually races 1, 2, 3, and 4). Basically, for selected meetings, an ‘Early Quaddie’ offers customers an additional opportunity to place a ‘Quaddie’ bet.
When placing an ‘Early Quaddie’, you must select at least one runner in each race/leg. The more runners you select per race/leg, the higher the cost of your ‘Quaddie’ bet will be – though, your chances of winning will also be higher!
The minimum amount you can bet on an ‘Early Quaddie’ is $0.50, though most people bet at least $1.
The amount you can win on an ‘Early Quaddie’ bet will depend on the total prize pool for the ‘Early Quaddie’ and the number of winners. The total prize pool for an ‘Early Quaddie’ is equal to the amount of money the entire betting community bets on it and is divided by winning $1 bets. For example, if the betting community bets a total of $10,000 on an ‘Early Quaddie’, the prize pool will be $10,000. And, if the number of winning $1 is 23, the prize pool will be divided by 23 meaning each winner would get $434.78.

‘3UP’ is a mystery betting product available at TAB retail outlets only.
‘3UP’ bets offers you three mystery bets across three different bet types in one for a total cost of $3.
A ‘3UP’ bet is made up of:
1 X $1 single ‘Win’ bet
1 x $1 single ‘Exacta’ bet
1 x $1 single ‘Trifecta’ bet.
When you select a ‘3UP’ bet, the TAB computer selects three numbers:
The first number determines the runner selected for your ‘Win’ bet
The first and second number determine the runners selected for you ‘Exacta’ bet
The first, second, and third numbers determine the runners selected for your ‘Trifecta’ bet.
For example, if the TAB computer selected the numbers 2, 6, and 7, your selections for each bet would be as follows:
$1 ‘Win’ bet on runner #2
$1 ‘Exacta’ bet on runners #2 and #6
$1 ‘Trifecta’ bet on runners #2, #6, and #7.
To receive the dividends for each bet, the runners selected must finish in the correct order as shown on the ‘3UP’ screen.
