The Place Dividends message indicates how many places will be paid the place dividend.

0 Place Dividends= No place dividends paid.

2 Place Dividends= Place dividend paid for 1st and 2nd. No 3rd place dividend.

3 Place Dividends= Place dividend paid for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
This is the default scenario and no message is displayed in this case.
Greater than 7 runners are required for 3 place dividends to be paid.

However, 3 place dividends will be paid if Late Scratchings reduce the number of runners to a total of 5, 6 or 7

Note that for Place pools on South African races where SuperTAB pools are pooled into South Africa, the South African betting rules apply.

For the Place pool:

• A dividend is paid for the 4th place getter if there are 16 or more starters.
• If there are less than 8 starters, the pool is refunded. There will not be a '2 Place Dividends' or 'No Third Dividend' scenario where only 1st and 2nd place are paid.
• The Place pool will jackpot if all place getters are unbacked.
