1. What is National Tote?

The National Tote combines the NSWTAB, SuperTAB and UniTAB betting pools into a single pool that includes all Australian states and territories.

2. How do I know if a race is a National Tote race?

For customers in venue, Sky will display “NATIONAL TOTE” above the pre-race Tote odds columns, while local tote pooled races will continue to show as NSW, STAB, UTAB. For example, it will look like this:

For customers using the TAB App or tab.com.au, National Tote races will show in the pooling indicators section at the bottom of the race card. When SuperTAB, NSWTAB and UTAB are being combined into a National Tote pool, the symbol is displayed next to the totalisator pool total.

When International totalisator pools are being pooled into a combined National Tote, the symbol is displayed next to the totalisator pool total.

When a combined National pool is being pooled into an international totalisator, the symbol is displayed next to the totalisator pool total.

3. How do I place a bet on a National Tote race?

Placing bets on a National Tote race works the same as it currently does for local tote pools. There are no changes to how you place a bet.

4. Will there be any changes to race results, payout times, or bet cancellation policies for National Tote?

No. National Tote does not affect how race results are declared, when payouts are processed, or the existing bet cancellation policies. The only change is that bets from NSWTAB, SuperTAB, and UniTAB are combined into a single pool.

5. Have commission rates and betting rules changed for National Tote?

Yes, the commission rates have been updated. The new commission rates are as set out below. These apply to all domestic National Tote races and local Tote races from 22 September 2026 onwards.
