A ‘Place’ bet involves selecting a runner to place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd*.
When making a ‘Place’ bet, you can choose to make a ‘Fixed Odds’ bet or a ‘Tote’ bet (i.e., a bet based on fluctuating odds).
*Please note: 3rd place dividends are only paid for races with eight or more runners.

Placing a ‘Place’ bet on the TAB app
1. Log in to your account.
2. Tap on the ‘Racing’ icon on the menu at the bottom on the screen.

3. On the ‘Racing’ page, select the day/date you want to view races for (i.e., select ‘Next to Go’, ‘Today’, ‘Tomorrow’ or a specific date) and select a race meeting.

4. On the race meeting page, select a race.
5. On the race page, ‘Win/Place’ will automatically be selected as the bet type. So, simply select the runner you want to place a ‘Place’ bet on.

6. Once you’ve selected your runner, enter a stake in the ‘Place’ field and tap ‘Place Bet’.

7. Review the details of your bet and tap ‘Confirm Bet’.

2. Select ‘Today’s Racing’.

3. Select your preferred racing code (i.e., thoroughbred, greyhounds, or harness) and the race you want to bet on.
4. Win/Place is the default bet type. So, to place a ‘Place’ bet, simply select the runner(s) you want to bet on to place to add them to your bet slip.

5. Once you’ve selected the runner(s) you want to bet on, add the amount you want to bet on the runner(s) in the ‘Place’ field. Then, select ‘Bet Now’.
6. Review the details of your bet, then select ‘Submit’.
