A ‘Mystery Bet’ involves making a bet based on computer generated selections for one of the following bet types:
- Win
- Place
- Quinella
- Exacta
- Duet
- Trifecta
- First 4
- Doubles
- Quaddies
- Big 6.
The betting options available for ‘Mystery Bets’ include:
- Boxed betting
- Flexi betting.

Placing a ‘Mystery Bet’ on the TAB app
To place a ‘Mystery Bet’ at tab.com.au:
1. Log in to your account.
2. Select ‘Today’s Racing’.
3. Select your preferred racing code (i.e., thoroughbred, greyhounds, or harness) and the race you want to bet on. For example, Randwick (NSW), Race 1.
4. Select the bet type for your ‘Mystery Bet’ (e.g., ‘Win/Place’, ‘Quinella’, ‘Trifecta’, etc.). For this example, we’ve selected ‘Win/Place’.
5. Scroll down to the bottom of the field/list or runners until the ‘Mystery’ option appears.
6. Select the number of mystery selections you’d like to make.
7. Once you’ve selected the number of mystery selections you’d like to make, Enter the amounts you’d like to bet on your mystery selections and:
- Select ‘Place Bet’ to place your bet straight away, or
- ‘Add to Bet Slip’ to add your mystery bet to your bet slip.

To place a ‘Mystery Bet’ at tab.com.au:
- Log in to your account.
- Select ‘Today’s Racing’.
3. Select your preferred racing code (i.e., thoroughbred, greyhounds, or harness) and the race you want to bet on. For example., Geelong (VIC), Race 7.
4. Select the bet type for your ‘Mystery Bet’ (e.g., ‘Win/Place’, ‘Quinella’, ‘Trifecta’, etc.). For this example, we’ve selected ‘Win/Place’.
5. Scroll down to the bottom of the field/list or runners until the ‘Mystery’ option appears.
6. Select the number of mystery selections you’d like to make.
7. Once you’ve selected the number of mystery selections you’d like to make, the selections will appear in your Bet Slip. Enter the amounts you’d like to bet on your mystery selections and select ‘Bet Now’.
8. Review the details and final cost of your bet and select ‘Submit’.
