A ‘Boxed Trifecta bet’ allows you to select the runners in a race that will place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in a race in any order.

Placing a ‘Boxed Trifecta’ bet on the TAB app
To place a ‘Boxed Trifecta’ bet on the TAB app:
- Log in to your account.
- Go to racing homepage and select ‘Today’s Racing’ or a race from ‘Next to Go’.
3. Select your preferred racing code (i.e., thoroughbred, greyhounds, or harness) and the race you want to bet on. For example, Randwick (NSW), Race 1.
4. Once you’ve selected the race you want to bet on, select ‘Trifecta’.
5. Select the ‘Boxed’ option (which will appear under the bet type options) and at least three runners. Then:
- If you want to place you bet straight away, tap ‘Bet Now’.
- If you want to add the bet to your bet slip and bet later, tap ‘Add to Bet Slip’.
6. If you tap ‘Bet Now’, you’ll need to review the details of your bet and tap ‘Confirm Bet’ to place.

To place a ‘Boxed Trifecta’ bet at tab.com.au:
- Log in to your account.
- Select ‘Today’s Racing’.
3. Select your preferred racing code (i.e., thoroughbred, greyhounds, or harness) and the race you want to bet on. For example, Geelong (VIC), Race 7.
4. Once you’ve selected the race you want to bet on, select ‘Trifecta’. Make all of your selections by ticking the checkbox in the ‘1st’ column.
5. Once you’ve made all of your selections, enter a bet amount in your bet slip and select ‘Bet Now’.
Please note: If you want to use the ‘Flexi’ betting option, select the ‘Flexi’ button – sometimes, ‘Flexi’ betting will be set as the default betting option for a ‘Boxed Bet’. When this is the case, if you don’t want to use the ‘Flexi’ betting option, you’ll need to unselect the ‘Flexi’ button.
6. Review the details and final cost of your bet and select ‘Submit’.
