Self-Exclusion is a regulated process and different states and territories have different rules regarding:
- The minimum period that self-exclusions must last
- Revocation or reactivation processes once self-exclusion period has ended

Important note:When you apply a self-exclusion to your TAB account, your account will be closed and funds withdrawn once pending bets have settled.
NSW and VIC = 12 months:
A self-excluded individual can begin the process of reactivating their betting/gambling account(s) after 12 months have passed. The process involves obtaining a letter from a recognised counselling service in NSW/VIC that confirms the individual’s attendance at counselling sessions.

ACT = 6 months
A self-excluded individual can begin the process of reactivating their betting/gambling account(s) after 6 months have passed. The process involves obtaining a letter from a recognised counselling service in the ACT that confirms the individual’s attendance at counselling sessions.

NT – 12 months (if nominated during the 72 hour cooling off period):
If no self-exclusion period is confirmed during the cooling off period, the exclusion will be permanent and the self-excluded individual will never be able to re-open an account with us.

To apply a self-exclusion to your TAB account using the TAB app:
- Log in to your account.
- Once logged in, tap the ‘More’ menu in the bottom right corner of the screen.
3. Tap ‘Responsible Gambling Tools’.
4. On the ‘Responsible Gambling Tools’ screen, tap ‘Self Exclusion’.
5. Read all of the information for ‘Step 1. What you should know’ carefully. Then, tap ‘Next’.
6. Read all of the information for ‘Step 2. Declaration’ carefully. Then, if you wish to proceed ensure you tick the ‘I agree’ box, followed by 'Next'.
7. Enter your TAB account password and tap ‘Confirm’ to complete your self-exclusion.
Important note: When you tap ‘Confirm', your self-exclusion will take effect immediately and you will be logged out of your account.
To apply a self-exclusion to your account at
tab.com.au:
- Log in to your account.
- Select the menu in the top left corner of the screen.
3. On the drop-down menu that appears, select ‘My Account’. Then, scroll down and select ‘Responsible Gambling Tools’.
4. On the ‘Responsible Gambling Tools’ page, scroll down to the ‘Self Exclusion’ section and select ‘Self Exclude’.
5. Read all of the information on the ‘Self Exclusion’ page carefully, and then select ‘Next’.
6. Read all of the self-exclusion terms and conditions carefully and tick the checkbox next to ‘I agree’ to confirm that you accept them. Then, select ‘Next’.
7. Enter your password and select ‘Confirm Self Exclusion’.
Important note:This is the final step in applying a self-exclusion to your account. If you select ‘Confirm Self Exclusion’, the self-exclusion will be applied immediately and you’ll lose access to your account.
